These classes are for mothers recovering from child birth at 6+ weeks or 8+ weeks for caesarean births (with the go ahead from your GP). You are more than welcome to bring your baby until they are crawling, but you can also come without your little angel. Feeding (any kind), changing nappies, and anything else you’ve got to do is totally fine. Expect some cuddly chaos in class. Please know that giggling, crying, laughing babies keen to express themselves are part of the fun - so please don’t worry about that bit. Do note these are not Mummy and Me or Baby Yoga classes where songs are sung and toys are used, although if you’d like to sing a song or bring toys to keep bébé entertained, please do. Postnatal Yoga’s focus is on Mum’s postpartum physical recovery and emotional well-being, and baby is along for the ride! Think core strengthening, pelvic floor exercises, shoulder and chest stretches, and calming breathing techniques, but above all connecting with other mamas with babies in the area.  It is never too late to start postnatal yoga - some Mums begin as soon as they are given the green light by their medical provider and others don’t start for a whole year. Each mama is different and welcome in class at any stage of motherhood. Mums are generally advised to attend postnatal specific classes for at least 6 months before moving on to other forms of exercise, especially with higher intensity/impact.

Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in, water, and anything you might need for your baby if bringing your little bub with you. Prams welcome. All props including yoga mats are provided.
